Founded in April 2020, during one of the most challenging moments in modern history, the NERDS RULE INC. Global Leadership Academy was created with a bold vision to plant seeds of hope, leadership, innovation, and community transformation around the world. In mid-August 2020, the Academy officially launched its programs, internship opportunities, and podcast, introducing its Fellows Program to community partners in San Diego and globally, bringing together emerging leaders committed to creating meaningful change.
The Fellows Program identifies and supports individuals ages 18 and above who demonstrate the passion, vision, and potential to create global impact while addressing real challenges in urban communities. Fellows participate in a transformative learning experience focused on leadership development, entrepreneurship, program design, innovation, and community engagement. Through mentorship, workshops, and collaborative projects, participants learn how to start and grow businesses, develop community programs, and build sustainable initiatives that address social challenges. Fellows gain the practical skills and knowledge needed to design impactful programs, launch businesses and social ventures, and lead effectively in complex environments.
The Academy has proudly graduated three international cohorts of Fellows from Bangladesh, Burundi, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, the United States, and Uganda. These graduates have gone on to start businesses, create community programs, launch social initiatives, and lead projects that raise the bar in their communities while inspiring others to take action.
During the global pandemic, the Academy’s work received international recognition, highlighted by Forbes Magazine, the organization’s commitment to planting seeds of hope, support, leadership, and opportunity at a time when communities around the world needed encouragement and direction.
Today, the NERDS RULE INC. Global Leadership Academy continues to empower emerging leaders to build businesses, design innovative programs, lead community action projects, and drive sustainable change. By equipping individuals with entrepreneurial skills, leadership development, strategic thinking, and a service-driven mindset, the Academy is helping cultivate a new generation of leaders prepared to uplift their communities and create lasting global impact.

We are proud to celebrate one of our Class of 2021 Fellows for receiving another grant to support his incredible initiative, the NRI Project – Support and Promotion of Burundian Peacemakers. Since launching his project during the NERDS RULE INC.
